Penguins: Antarctica & Africa!

Ms Quinton's class is studying penguins.  Watch the two wonderful National Geographic videos and read about the African Black Footed Penguin (found through a Nettrekker search) to learn with us:

Well, the holiday school break and Christmas plans had me take a break from blogging.  Back at er now; Happy New Year to you all!  May our year be filled with amazing reads and learning opportunities.

First off "Family Literacy Week," will be a great time to do some extra reading as well as get involved in our local communities.

The same week (Jan 21-27) is also "Bring a Book to Work Week."

You could also help with the "Jam the GM Children's Book Drive" (Salmon Arm GM and Piccadilly Mall).

There is even more to choose from: so unplug from technology and attend a Salmon Arm Silverbacks or Sicamous Eagles game; try a family game night, skating or curling, or even a family scavenger hunt.  Get information flyers and "Activity Logs" from your schools (information also in local papers and the links above).  Remember to update your "Activity Log" to capture all of the wonderful things you participate in.

Have fun unplugging and playing!  Best wishes, and happy reading.  Ms. M.
